So, this happened really fast, but here we are! I’m over the moon excited to have this opportunity to quite literally Spread the DixieLove in my own way.
My name is Abby. I’m the mama in charge around here, and it may be the only place I’m actually in charge. I have two silly girls, who I’ll often refer to as “C” (age 3) and her younger sister “A,” who is 14 months old. I’m married to Charlie and together we are only occasionally successful at maintaining a reasonable ratio of vegetables to pizza. Charlie is a firefighter and professional cloth diaper launderer. Ganon, the big white lab whom we love dearly, can usually be found patiently at the bottom of the toddler wrestling pile.
It didn’t take long for my reputation as a babywearing, breastfeeding baby guru to go public and my friends, and their friends started calling asking for tips and help. Teaching others new ways to love and snuggle babies is my passion. Helping mamas be confident in their instincts and ability to care for their child gives me the warm and fuzzies.
Our goal is simple: help every family feel loved, supported, heard in their real life parenting situation. Our foundation is in natural, back-to-basics parenting adapted for modern living. Babywearing and breastfeeding are amazing ways to do the best we can for our kids and are the two core services we have built upon.
I strongly believe in the power of community support as a means for successful and positive parenting. Mamas who feel supported have an easier time in their transitions to motherhood yet our society has lost that extended family support system that is so key during this time. By creating a network of peers, skilled professionals and educators I hope to provide a support system that will empower families. Soon, we hope to offer an organized support group of mamas that will meet regularly. Stay tuned for more details!
Thanks for lending us a little support as we kick off DixieLove Parenting Resource Consultants. We hope to meet you soon!
Now… about that pizza…
